hahah.... don't even talk to me about your office being a server, larry. let me tell you a story about how my office became the fridge that it is. when i joined the next project, they said i need a second computer (for recordings). a couple weeks later, they said i need two more. so now i have two linux boxes and two dell machines. then my officemate matt joined the group i'm in and they said he need the same deal. i think we now have 8 total machines in this tiny office of ours. so then it got really really hot. so i asked facilities to turn up the air conditioning. and so they did. now i have this huge fan above me spewing super cold air directly at me. i'm no longer hot but now every mornign when i get in, instead of taking off my coat, i put it on and my hands are forever cold.
sigh....

Wow Claud, that is one scary machine. How about you spend about $2k more and get the following: dual 2.8ghz zeon processors with 4gb of ddr ram. cdr/dvdr burner. I *think* it would be about 3-4k after my ibm discount... hehe... I'm describing the computer they got me at work for xp development. Problem is, there isn't much development on xp for my group so I have to use my relatively slow, single processor, 512mb machine. so sad. (btw, when they got me the second computer, its like I'm in a room full of servers. Its quietly humming right next to me despite not doing anything useful... and it makes a loud hmmmmmmmmm when it starts up). such power going to waste. maybe they can ghost my machine and I'll reimage it with 2k. Alritey, back to work... big, evil, multi-threaded bug that I'm hoping to squash today. been tracing code for soooooo long this week.
oh yeah, i think i'm between yap and fobulous too, but on the other hand, i have been told i'm whitewashed before. so maybe i'm asian-american. and no, i don't kow who leon, aaron, etc. are but i have a sneaky suspicion who they are.
karl, check out the laws in colorado... all traffic violations are treated differently from state-to-state. I know in maryland, they have this thing where you can get out of a ticket if you've never gotten it before. doh... never mind. check out the laws there anyway.
check this out: http://www.falcon-nw.com/fragbox.asp
i need opinions on this machine... whether it's a good deal, if it'll hold up to intense gaming, etc. i k now you guys have some kind of input.

to answer ryan's question from a while ago...
in the section where you post messages, you can click on settings tab and then the sub-tab members to see who all is a contributing member. although i suppose we could have a readership of people who aren't posting but just coming to see what we write? haha although i don't see how interesting it would be to a stranger :) unless they were stalking one of us or something i spose...
anyways, it's funny... sometimes i feel like i pop into our blog all the time and that there's nothing new... and then for like a SECOND i'll stop visiting and when i get back, it's like, conversations galore! i guess i just don't have the timing thing down :)

no worries...it was a really painless experience for me. it was actually just exciting to be in the middle of it. and yeah, that whole candle thing was quite disappointing, considering how many candles i have back my apt! i really have more candles than i know what to do with them. but i guess whoever i'm subletting from doesn't appreciate the beauty of them! =)
oooh...sorry about the ticket, karl. i'm still trying to contest my $250 parking ticket! i wonder if that will ever get resolved. and speaking of parking tickets...so last Thursday night, lots of people left their cars in Manhattan during the blackout because it was either too crowded or it was safer to walk home, etc. and then the news was saying on Friday morning that cops were giving these cars tickets!! sheesh! where's the sympathy?
good luck on the move, karl. (can't believe you're moving already!) are you already done with work?
and hang in there with classes, ryan. =) i'm looking forward to student life again. prying myself out of bed at 6:30am is getting increasingly painful. =P
