Its called East Coast bias. I agree with you that its messed up our team isn't going to the Rose bowl. The BCS isn't perfect (as you'll recall there was controversy last year too).

One of the reason's why Cal gets little respect is the Pac 10 isn't considered one of the elite conferences. Next year we have 3 weak-sauce teams playing Call. But 2006, from a 2004 perspective, we're going to be playing some tough competition outside our conference (http://california.scout.com/3/fbschedule.html). The football/atheletic departments probably schedule these way in advance. Else, too bad we can't play Boise state and Utah next year and crush both of them.

On a brighter note, Tedford is signed for the next 5 years. Hopefully Rodgers will stay too. Thus assuming everything goes well next year, we're looking at 10-1 or 11-0.


Ok. Enough football. Went to Handel's Sing-It-Yourself Messiah last Monday. Wow. It was quite good.
